Windows 95, 96, 97, 98, 99

Windows 98 Updates
  • MS has already released some updates to Windows 98: Media Player (get it), Chat , Dial-Up Security Upgrade (get it), JavaScript Bug (really IE 4.01, get it), etc.
Service Pack #1 - 1,235k
  • Check if you have Windows 95 version 4.00.95. Not 4.00.95a or 4.00.95b!
  • To check right click on the My Computer icon and choose properties
Dial-Up Networking 1.3 - 2300k
  • Why do you need this? Will it includes an advance Dial-Up Network component.  Even if you're on a network this update will enhance your TCP/IP stack and several other components, so install it today.
  • This can be installed over 95a and 95b.
  • This update includes the 1.2 and Winsock2 enhancements.
Password Update - 278k
  • If you needed Service Pack #1 you probably need to apply this patch after that one.
  • This can be installed over 95a and 95b.
Kernel Update - 290k
  • If you have 4.0095a you need to apply this patch after that one. If the version number reported is 4.00.950b do not install.
OLE Update - 404k
  • If you needed Service Pack #1 you probably need to apply this patch after that one.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 & 4.0

Microsoft IE 4.01 Service Pack 1 - Big download
  • Highly recommended if you want to live on the edge with the hottest desktop features.
  • If you haven't already download and install the Desktop Enhancement pack, the features are pretty cool and can actually make you more productive.
128 Bit Security Update
  • Self explanatory.

Windows NT 4.0

Option Pack
  • Download this for the latest version of everything you ever wanted in an NT server and more.  Requires NT Service #3 and IE 4.0.
Service Pack #3
  • While booting up NT see if the version mention Service Pack 3. If not your REALLY need this.

Software

Updates for Windows 95 and 98 for Y2k. One update not to miss is the update to file manager to handle year 2000 date right.

 

Windows 98 Updates
  • Y2K Update for Windows 98. Microsoft say's that any Y2K issue with Windows 98 won't cost data loss or damage, you might still be wise to do this update.

Updates for Windows 98 for various problems. Note: Near the end of July 1999, the latest version on Windows 98 was released, several major fixes was included so if you purchased Windows 98 before that time you need to visit www.microsoft.com and look for updates. Look for Windows 98 SE. 

Updates for MS Office all versions. Recommend to perform SR1 and SR2 for Office 97.

Clock Calendar Cards to Bios updates are available to fix older system to handle Y2k. Call (760) 876-8518 as each system will require a different fix. Most fixes are under $75.00.
